Condition Senate leader Kevin de León stated Thursday the Senate Democratic Caucus is supporting Sen. Toni Atkins (D-North Park) to consider over for him as Senate president pro tem in 2018 after an election in The month of january.

“Four years back, our Caucus elected the very first Latino leader in more than a century to guide the California Condition Senate — and, the coming year, Senator Atkins will end up our first lady to become elected Senate leader,” De León stated inside a statement.

De León, a La Democrat that has offered as Senate leader for pretty much 4 years, is walking lower in the leadership position because he runs against Sen. Dianne Feinstein within the 2018 election on her seat within the U.S. Senate.
