Shaun Triplett, mayor of Sanford, Fla., was outdoors his home around 2:15 a.m. when three men contacted him, allegedly pointed a gun in the mayor, after which stole the secrets of his Mercedes and the wallet, this news agency reported. Police found Triplett’s broken vehicle later that morning.
The mayor of the orlando city was carjacked by three men early Sunday (June 26) outdoors his home, according to Fox News. Two teens were arrested soon after the incident along with a third had been searched for Monday.
Sanford, that is northeast of Orlando, made national headlines this year when neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman shot and wiped out Trayvon Martin.
