A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on two charges of aggravated battery after his parents were stabbed in bed in their apartment on Cherry Ridge Drive, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
The youth had some scratches on his legs when officers found him at the nearby church, and he was treated by paramedics at the Sheriff’s Office before questioning and arrest, the report said.

The parents were attacked with a knife about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday as they were sleeping, according to the report. The couple were stabbed in the head and neck but fought off their attacker, who then left the scene. A witness, not named by police, heard the couple calling for their attacker to stop by name, the report said. The 43-year-old mother and 45-year-old father were treated at Orange Park Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
The boy was arrested just before 11 a.m. after he was found at a church about a half-mile away on Merchant Way in the Chimney Lakes community, according to his arrest report.
