Earlier this month, Venables was charged over indecent images of children for a second time.
She added that in addition to her grief, she felt her husband blamed her for letting James out of her sight in the shopping centre, giving child killers Jon Venables and Robert Thompson a chance to swoop and commit the murder that would send shockwaves across the country.

In her memoirs, Ms Fergus described her horror at the behaviour of the defendants’ families during their murder trial when she saw them laughing and joking with Venables and Thompson.
