A woman was also injured, but her injuries are not believed to be life threatening and she is in a stable condition.
Humberside Police say they want to speak to Anthony Lawrence urgently after a man died at a property in East Yorkshire and are conducting extensive searches with the police helicopter and dog units.
Mr Lawrence is described as white, 55-years-old, around 5ft 10in tall, with close cropped dark hair and large build.
“Avoiding speaking to us could only make matters worse for you in the long run.”
“While we still believe this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the wider public, please do not approach him yourself.”
The victim was seriously injured in Southburn, Driffield, on Friday evening and taken to Hull Royal Infirmary, but died on Saturday morning.
He added: “We are still appealing for anyone who believes they have seen Mr Lawrence to call us immediately on 999.
Officers said they had now found the wanted man’s blue Vauxhall Meriva and thanked the public for their assistance.
Forces in this region are also on the alert with two, Durham and North Yorkshire repeating the Humberside appeal on Twitter.
