Ryleigh’s favorite stop is For the Kids, by George, Children’s Museum.
Grandparents Richard and Dianne Collinson of Hagerstown joined their granddaughters Addison Harvey, 12, and Ryleigh Harvey, 11, for fun day activities. The family makes all the stops and enjoys the different designs on the decorative holiday snowmen on the city’s light poles, Dianne Collinson said.
Several families milling around the tent were bundled up and ready for fun.
The Harvey children had their photos taken with Becky Boehler, aka Frosty the Snowman, who greeted visitors at the tent.
Three kid-friendly stops on the 5K included the hands-on For the Kids, by George, Children’s Museum at 229 E. Martin St., the Unfrozen Zone Obstacle Course at the Boys and Girls Club of the Eastern Panhandle at 105 W. John St., and children’s activities in the library.
“This is another event where we provide an opportunity for people to come out and bond as a family, to live better and healthier on their own,” said Randy Lewis, executive director of Main Street Martinsburg.
“You get to make crafts and learn new things,” she said.
