Fearing for his or her lives, the officials fired around the man.
The person was transported to some local hospital where he died.
Brownsville police spokesman J.J. Trevino stated several officials should be put on administrative leave for 3 days as government bodies investigate shooting.
The man’s family have identified him as German Ornelas, 32. Police also confirmed the man passed away.
Government bodies say Brownsville police were attempting to serve a warrant on West St. Charles Street whenever a man came their way brandishing a knife.
Based on Hernandez, Ornelas was without a knife. She stated police attempted to influence the household to state he did. “We would like justice,” she stated.
