“I think the philosophical position helps you to kind of keep all things in perspective,” Natarajan states. “I think it is convenient to cope with these kind of cosmic scales — you realize, speaking about 3.5 billion years, a procedure going for a hundred million years — all that is in some way a lot more understandable in my experience than, you realize, day-to-day existence stuff. And So I think being philosophical continues to be very useful.”
“Black holes are, obviously, something can’t see,” Doeleman states. “They would be the tiniest things imaginable.
