Thursday forecast for Austin: Lingering cold conditions from Tuesday’s cold front and moisture streaming into Central Texas in the Off-shore via Mexico could bring a “wintry mix” of precipitation across a lot of the location, the nation’s Weather Service warns. 

When it’s below freezing . . .  

“We must have an excellent freeze tonight,” Hampshire stated. “Other than that, the rain is going to be gradually clearing from north to south today.”

7:20 p.m. update: The Nation’s Weather Service has issued a winter months advisory through night time for Central Texas and also the Hill Country.

8 p.m. update: The Texas Dot is reporting heavy congestion and traffic stalls along Interstate 35 both in directions as snow is constantly on the fall over the Austin metro area.

Accumulations aren’t expected as precipitation minute rates are lacking and ground temperatures remain above freezing, the elements service states.

The icy weather has motivated Austin College to cancel its classes throughout Thursday evening, officials stated. ACC will give you updates on every other cancellations or delays through social networking, officials stated.
