(Reuters) – One new case of measles was reported this weekend in the US, with the country with the worst disease and the very infectious and very persistent disease near thirty years.
The measles case was confirmed on Saturday in a deserted resident of the south-eastern state of Georgia, according to state health department.
The measles outbreak, which started in New York in October 2018, is mostly tied to parents who refused to vaccinate their children. It is a threat to the completion of measles-free status of the United States.
As of October 3, the country recorded 1,250 cases of measles this year from a total of 31 states.
The individual may disclose others to the measles virus between 31 October and 6 November and the Department of Public Health of Georgia said that he was notifying those people.
