VERONA, Italy (Reuters) – Italian photographer Paolo Roversi took inspiration from William Shakespeare's “Romeo and Juliet” to the 2020 calendar Pirelli, which has Hollywood names as Emma Watson and Kristen Stewart as well as a transgender model and actress Indya Moore.

Set in Verona, where Shakespeare's play takes place, the calendar, entitled “Looking at Juliet”, was presented in northern Italy on Tuesday.

A short film accompanied by Roversi is a film director who wants to spend Juliet.

In recent years, the Pirelli calendar, which has a limited publication program and is being donated to the tire maker's clients in Italy, has been released from isolated models to dressed more artistic themes.

“The association is changing very rapidly and Pirelli's calendar is also changing,” said Roversi with Reuters.

“It could not stay the same from 30 years (ago) … it's interesting to see how Pirelli's calendar follows the evolution of society and photography, of the aesthetic, the beauty of women's beauty,” he said.

In addition to Watson, Stewart and Moore, actors Claire Foy, Yara Shahidi and Mia Goth on this year's edition are also Chinese singer Chris Lee, Spanish singer Rosalia and daughter of Roversi, the artist Stella Roversi.
