MANILA – A man in Filipina attacked by crocodile what he thought was a plastic statue when selfie . The victim is known to be alive despite getting brutal attacks from the large reptile animal.

Nehemias Chipada, 68, is visiting the Amaya View amusement park in Cagayan de Oro, a town on the island of Mindanao. He visited the amusement park to celebrate his birthday, but his day turned into a nightmare when he saw a crocodile.

Believing that the 4-meter-long crocodile was a statue, the man ventured into the pool and pulled out his phone to take a selfie. However, what Chipada didn’t know was that the crocodile was not a statue but a real crocodile.

Video captured by horrified eyewitnesses shows Chipada holding out his hand with his phone, moments before the alligator lunges at his other arm and drags him into the water.

Staff at the park were desperately working to stop the bleeding and it was later revealed an 8cm long crocodile tooth had lodged in Chipada’s arm.

Following the horrific incident, the Chipada family blamed the park management. They claim there are no signs to warn tourists about the deadly animal.
