JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM), finally officially marketed the Rocky conventional engine variant with a capacity of 1,200 cc.
Although the cubication is the same as the Sigra, but when examined in more detail, the Rocky runway is very different from that used in cheap environmentally friendly cars (low cost green car/ LCGC).
As is known, the 1,200 cc engine used by Rocky is the result of Daihatsu’s latest development.
In fact, Indonesia became the first country to launch the Rocky with this engine, just like the Toyota Raize.

Anjar Rosjadi, Marketing Product Planning Division Head of ADM said, the significant difference between the Rocky and Sigra engines can be seen from the code.

“Sigra NR-engine, when Rocky is new with the code WA-VE. Then the most significant is the cylinder, the Sigra is 1,200 cc four-cylinder, if Rocky is 1,200 cc 3 cylinder,” said Anjar to Kompas.com, last Friday (18/6/2021).
Not only that, Anjar also explained that although the Rocky engine has three cylinders, the performance is much more powerful than the Sigra.
Based on the data on paper, the 1200 cc Sigra engine is capable of producing 88 PS of power and 108 Nm of torque. While Rocky 1.2L, its power reaches 113 tk.

Regarding fuel economy, Anjar explained that the new 3-cylinder engine used by Rocky from the results of internal testing was very economical.
“Torque, power, and better fuel efficiency (than Sigra). Internal tests on public roads such as toll and urban areas as well as a combination of inside and outside the city with normal driving are 18-19 kpl,” said Anjar.
