Chilean north coast hit by earth size 6.0, USGS reports

An earthquake struck 6.0 on Tuesday early off the north coast of Chile, but no damage was reported.

The US Geological Survey said the quake was recorded at 3:46 in local time at a moderate depth of 20 miles. It was located 23 miles southwest of Arica city.

In 2010, the most recent hit of the Chile came in 2010, when an 8.8 quake caused more than 500 deaths due to an earthquake.
