France ask Citizens to "clarify" their approach to Vox

The French Secretary of State for European Affairs, Amélie de Montchalin, said Sunday that they will ask MEPs toCitizenswhat"clarify" your positionwith regard to collaboration with far-right parties, in reference to thecollaboration with Voxfor the appointment of mayors.

"We do not compromise with the idea that when you are in a pro-European group, one can collaborate with the extreme right. We will ask Citizens MEPs to clarify their situation with regard to that party, "De Montchalin said in an interview with France Inter.

The comments of the gala leader – whose party is an ally of Cs in the European Parliament – come after the last negotiations for the formation of governments after themunicipal and autonomic electionsfrom last May 26.

Although the party led byAlbert Rivera rflattened out to sit down to negotiate with Vox, both formations reached independent agreements with the Popular Party. In the case of Madrid, where José Luis Martínez-Almeida was sworn in as mayor, Ciudadanos could get to share government with theartido of Santiago Abascal.

In the municipal coalition government of the capital, PP and Cs have divided the different areas of action without any having been occupied by Vox. At the moment, Abascal's training does not occupy any position, although negotiations with the 'popular' could lead them to preside over District Boards.
