Hotels and businesses in Saudi Arabia fined for failing to clean up | Fines in hotels and businesses in Saudi Arabia if not clean

Jeddah: A decision has been taken to impose hefty fines on cleanliness inspections in hotels and commercial establishments within the city limits. It is part of a drive to transform cities, including Riyadh, into world-class cities.

The establishment will be closed in case of unhygienic conditions in hotels and shops. Institutions are classified into different types. Businesses, souks and hotel restaurants are important.

If unsanitary conditions are found in commercial establishments, a warning will be issued first. The record of this will be kept by the municipality. Failure to do so will result in a fine. If so, the fine will continue to double.

The proposal is to charge up to 10,000 riyals in the first phase. Tables in hotels, dining areas, bathrooms and washrooms can be fined for poor hygiene. Consumers will also have the opportunity to complain.

The proposal is to take action without leaving hotels and restaurants. If it is serious, the institution will be closed. Leading institutions in Jeddah and Dammam were similarly shut down.

Action will be taken if there is a defect in the front of the establishment and the waste disposal system. In effect, establishments that are not clean are advised to pay a fine through a lightning inspection. It’s part of raising cities to world class.
