Kerkrade / Eygelshoven –
Visual artist Miriam Vleugels from Kerkrade can be seen on Saturday evening in the television program Sterren op het Doek. Together with two fellow artists, she faces the task of portraying René Froger.
In the Broadcasting MAX program Sterren op het Doek, Dutch celebrities are immortalized on the canvas. Every week there are three artists, with different styles, who paint after the guest. While the artists work on their portraits, presenter Özcan Akyol takes the viewers through the life of, in this case, René Froger. At the end, the singer gets to choose his favorite portrait. Froger is interviewed by Akyol in an empty Johan Cruijff ArenA about what it’s like to be at the top for 40 years.
Last Saturday, 742,000 viewers saw how journalist and presenter Clairy Polak went home with a portrait of herself, made by the Geleen artist Michelle Faaij (55). Whether Miriam Vleugels succeeds in bringing the first prize to Limburg again, will have to be seen on Saturday.
Sterren op het Doek, Saturday December 5, 8:40 PM, NPO 2.
