Metroid Prime 4 was announced four years ago today • Nintendo Connect

Metroid Prime 4 is being developed for Nintendo Switch, ”Nintendo informed us on June 13 at E3 2017. That was four years ago. But there was nothing more to see than the logo. The almost 40-second trailer raised hope:

A hope that was shattered in January 2019 as development of the game started all over again. Shinya Takahashi, Senior Managing Executive Officer, had bad news for us. Nintendo was with the general quality and level of sophistication of that time Metroid Prime 4 dissatisfied. It was therefore decided to review and change the entire structure again. Producer Kensuke Tanabe was hired to work with the studio that developed the original Metroid Prime franchise – namely the Retro studios.

Previously, former Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aimé asserted that things are “moving forward” and that the game is “doing well”. Nintendo finally confirmed, however, that “the current development progress has not reached the standard that we set for a successor”, which is why the development had to be reconsidered.

It is currently unclear whether we will be doing anything new at E3 2021 Metroid Prime 4 will be experienced or whether maybe the Metroid Prime Trilogy announced for Nintendo Switch, which has been rumored by countless rumors in the past. The Nintendo Direct and the subsequent Treehouse: Live presentation would be ideal.

Do you hope for news Metroid Prime 4 or should Nintendo only mention the game again when they have made real progress, which everyone would be happy with?
