The next playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is none other than Sephiroth. The villain from Final Fantasy VII joins the character gallery already in December, but Nintendo has not yet set a final release date.
Cloud, which is already available in Smash Ultimate, will thus be followed by its arch-enemy. Of course, Sephiroth poses with his giant sword, which he uses in the trailer to spear Mario – but only almost.
Exactly how the one-winged angel will work in battle, Nintendo has not revealed either. Towards the end of the trailer – which you can see above – we get a glimpse of him in his Safer ∙ Sephiroth form, and official screenshots show the rough in the upper body.
Nintendo will show more of its capabilities and fighting style next week, with a separate presentation set for December 17.
In autumn Nintendo introduced a number of Minecraft characters to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. However, it did not go completely smoothly, and the developer quickly had to go out to remove an unfortunate piece of meat from the game.
