LANDOVER, Md. – If it was just a step or two faster, Ryan Griffin could celebrate the capture of 61-yard detachments.
Rather the firm end had to wait for a commercial break to the next play to finish the job.
The emerging link between Sam Darnold and Griffin is also such that there was no question that the fourth round was going in the two-minute offense at the end of the first half, when Griffin continued the 45-yard reception with yard 16 hit a victory of 34-17 to win against the Redskins.
Griffin was from the NFL until she signed with the right Jets before the training camp. Darnold lost three of the first four games with a mono. But now it seems that they have played together for years.
“It's really hard work,” said Griffin. “When he got sick, it was tough because we lost a lot. I was new. It is a new offense. Sam was out, he started slowly. We are coming around and joking at the right time. ”
Griffin was in charge of the Jets with five catches for 109 yards, his first game taken 100-yard. Darnold escaped the pocket and spent over Fabian Moreau's top for the 45-yard finish on Griffin.
“These are always, when the ball feels like it's in the air for ever, it's like,‘ I'm here! 'I don't want to start anything,' said Griffin. “But I know that Sam is going to get the ball for me in those cases.”
Griffin's arrival in the seasons reached a season when he finally promised to put an end to Chris Herndon's back-up injury. More than four people are expected when he wanted to make the roster.
“This is my seventh year in the series,” said Griffin. “I know how it goes. I am glad they gave me a shot here. ”
Redskins saves Landon Collins – although the Giants left leave as a free agent because they questioned his cover – and his corners were not on the same page when Darnold was going through. A firm advantage ends.
“It was one of those games in which he kept free,” said coach Adam Gase. “We had nothing different than we had done before. There was only a turn.
“These guys have a good appreciation of working together. These guys do not just themselves. ''
