The people who went to the disaster areas of Belgium following the bad weather of recent weeks are unanimous. It is only by going there that one realizes the gravity of the situation and the extent of the damage.
Fortunately, the Belgian is more united than ever and thousands of citizens continue to mobilize to come to the aid of people who have lost everything. Like the Flemish actor Mathias Vergels.
The young man, well known in the north of the country for, in particular, his role in the successful series “Thuis”, went to Pepinster with members of the association “Brothers of solidarity”, which helps those without. – daily shelter.
From Pepinster, he delivered a moving testimony on Instagram, after noting the few resources that were deployed by rescuers in the city pepine.
“As you can see, I am in what was once the beautiful town of Pepinster,” he says at first. “We work with the Bothers of solidarity, because there is no help here. We saw no police, no ambulance, no firefighters. Nothing. Here, everything is based on solidarity, ”he laments. “And we are not in Bosnian pu ****, we are in Belgium, and I find it incredible, in these days, that it still happens”.
Mathias Vergels then calls on people to make a donation to the association because “the money will go directly to the victims”.
