The Minister of Education, Jaime Perczyk, and the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, announced that the National Administration of Medicines, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) confirmed the use of the Sinopharm laboratory vaccine in girls and boys between 3 and 11 years old.
Minister Perczyk expressed his joy at this achievement of the Government that “It has to do with a diplomatic, political and health effort”.
“This news will allow us to strengthen the three axes that the president asked us, which are to recover full presence, recover time and learning in school and the growing normality in the educational system”, assured the minister.
In this sense, the head of the educational portfolio stated: “School is the best place for girls and boys to be, it is a right and we are going to work to make it effective, that is why with the 24 educational jurisdictions we agreed to create a fund of 5 billion pesos with strategies to recover to all the students who dropped out of school “.
For her part, the Minister of Health explained: “The target population between the ages of 3 and 11 is approximately 6 million girls and boys”, and mentioned: “On Monday we are going to convene a Federal Health Council and after that meeting we will begin the distribution of the vaccines in stock”.
“The news is that Argentina ends 2021 with all its population, over 3 years, vaccinated”Vizzotti concluded.
The committee of experts that advise the president, the National Immunization Commission, and the Federal Council of Education had expressed themselves on the importance of having a preventive tool, taking into account that children under 11 had not yet been reached by the vaccination. In addition, this is of enormous importance not only for personal protection, but for the collective impact and relevance to sustain full presence.
