The SCT investigates an electrical failure that suspended the operation of Line 3

After the failure that caused the suspension of the service of Line 3 the Electric Train in some stations less than a week after its inauguration, the Ministry of Communications and Transportation (SCT), informed that they are investigating the cause that originated the failure to correct it together with the company ALSTOM, supplier of the electrical system.

In a statement, the federal agency stated that it also evaluate the response mechanisms of the Urban Electric Train System (Siteur) to the alerts issued by the system.

The SCT reported that after the damage the Line 3 it has worked normally. In their report they describe that the failure was recorded on Saturday at 12:54 p.m. and caused four trains running on viaduct 2 to stop and the passengers of one of them were evicted, in accordance with the evacuation protocols established for contingency cases, without any major incident.

At 12:58 pm, Siteur notified Alstom personnel (system provider) of these failures and at 5:20 pm, personnel from the supplier company restored power to viaduct 2 and service was resumed in the affected section.
