For some, it may be closer to the home where they live. Sometimes it doesn’t even have to be your own home. Even with rent, some are reluctant to give up when the landlord demands it.
The news is now filled with the story of a Canadian couple who relocated their entire home after realizing that their owner was going to demolish it. They flooded the house with small boats. The video of the house being relocated is now viral on social media.
It took about eight hours to get the house on the boat and get to the new location. More than a dozen boats took part in the initiative.
The home was originally located in Newfoundland, Canada. This two-story house by the river was the dream home of Daniela Penny and partner Kirk Lovell. That’s when the owner decides to demolish the house. Upon hearing this, Penny became very upset.
I loved that light green painted house. I talked to friends and family about going home. They know very well how close my heart is to that house, ”Penny said in an interview with CBC. The couple then decided to move house.
It was very difficult to get the house to the new place by hand. So, it was changing through the water. One corner of the boat was submerged as it was being taken home by boat across the river. Penny later said she thought the house was lost. Penny added that she could not believe the house had been relocated and that they had witnessed a historic moment.
