New DelhiPakistan bowler Mohammad Amir and Harbhajan Singh have been embroiled in a war of words after India’s defeat to Pakistan in the World Twenty20. Responding to a channel discussion on the issue, Harbhajan told the Pakistani Prime Minister that the school should be opened to teach people like Aamir.

I urge Imran Khan to open a school for children like this. There they can learn how to talk to an adult coworker. Our country teaches us manners. “We still speak with great respect to cricketers like Wasim Akram,” Harbhajan said.

Who is Muhammad Amir?

People like Aamir do not know how to talk to anyone. I should not have sold my country and talked to the cricketer. This is not like the pastime between me and Akhtar. We have known each other for a long time. A lot of cricket has been played together.

But who is Muhammad Amir? Wasn’t he convicted of conspiracy in the Lord’s? What is his credibility? He may have played 10 matches for the country. Then he betrayed the country for money, Harbhajan said.

The match-fixing scandal erupted during Pakistan’s 2010 tour of England. Three players, including Mohammad Aamir, Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt, have been banned from playing cricket. Aamir returned to cricket in 2016. Aamir announced his retirement in 2020.
