The free Pokémon Space Trail pairs beloved characters with real stories of European space science across several galleries. According to Libby Jackson, head of space at the Science Museum, the experience lets visitors set off on an adventure of discovery that reveals connections between the worlds of Pokémon and science.
The experience features large-scale installations starring characters such as Pikachu, Lunatone, and Arceus. In the museum’s Space gallery, the trail explores how NASA and ESA are returning to the moon through the Artemis programme, while also highlighting the moon’s impact within the Pokémon universe. The trail runs from 2 October until 3 January 2027.
Exclusive Merchandise and Gift Shop Access
Visitors completing the trail can access a dedicated Pokémon gift shop on the museum’s mezzanine level. According to museum guidelines, guests must book a free timed ticket for the shop in advance, and strict purchase limits apply to select products.
The retail space stocks a selection of Pokémon and ESA merchandise, including a limited number of astronaut Pikachu plush toys. Additional inventory includes clothing, stationery, collectables, and selected Pokémon Trading Card Game products from the Scarlet & Violet series.
